The laboratory was established in 2021 in order to solve research, scientific-organisational, scientific-educational, as well as scientific-educational and educational tasks in the field of literary studies and related humanities disciplines.

Our objectives

Research objectives:

– Development and implementation of fundamental and applied research projects in the field of literary studies and related humanities under RNF, RFBR and other grants, state assignment, on an initiative basis.

– Presentation of research results in the form of scientific reports at all-Russian and international conferences, scientific articles in journals, including those indexed in the Web of Science and Scopus databases, collective and author monographs, candidate and doctoral theses.

Research and organisational objectives:

– Organisation of scientific events: round tables, seminars, conferences.

– Expertise and advisory activities.

Research and educational objectives:

– Participation in the modernisation of working programmes of disciplines implemented at the Department of Russian and Foreign Literature; development of university-wide elective courses on topical problems of literary studies.

– Participation in the organisation of internships for undergraduate, graduate and postgraduate students.

– Modernisation of the postgraduate educational programme on the profile ‘Literatures of the Peoples of the World’.

Popularisation and education:

– Organisation of public lectures at the university and at external venues

– Participation in intellectual competitions.

– Organisation of discussion events.

Research areas

The research topics are related to the laboratory’s activities aimed at initiating and implementing research, scientific, educational and scientific outreach projects on the following interdisciplinary topics:

– International literary relations and interactions;

– the image of Russia in foreign literature;

– strategies of popularisation of humanitarian scientific knowledge;

– fiction and related media content in international cultural and humanitarian activities;

– theory and practice of cultural diplomacy in the conditions of digital transformation and socio-political turbulence.
