Main objectives
The laboratory was established in 2022 and serves as a research and training interdepartmental centre of MSLU.
Research areas:
- Research of phenomena and new trends in language with the help of corpora;
- Development of combined analysis of language lexicon: combining cognitive and corpus-based methods;
- Phraseology through the prism of corpus linguistics;
- Development of a corpus-based methodology for the study of lexico-grammatical constructions in different languages;
- Research of polysemy based on linguistic corpus;
- Research of topical tools in corpus linguistics;
- Compilation of new corpora for different purposes;
- Development of parallel corpora;
- Development of corpus data markup methodology;
- Use of neural networks for solving applied problems of corpus linguistics;
- Experimental research in corpus linguistics.
Educational activities:
● Training in combined analysis (corpus and traditional methods), reading statistical results of corpus data and hypothesis testing, tools of corpus linguistics (corpuses, markup, annotation, corpus processing systems), own corpus data processing procedures;
● Conduct laboratory work on corpus linguistics, grammar, lexicology, phonetics, statistical methods of analysing corpus data;
● Expansion of additional professional education programmes;
● Planning and organising events related to the Lab (conferences, seminars, webinars, etc.).
